We are excited to announce that Rev. Tasha Gibson, a graduate of Howard University (B.A), New York University (M.A.) and Duke Divinity School (M.Div.) will join the national staff in Birmingham as the newest Program Coordinator.
Rev. Gibson’s love for academic scholarship is informed by a diverse background in ministry having served on staff at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Winston-Salem, NC and First Baptist Church Austin, TX. She also completed a two-year residency at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, and a Clinical Pastoral Educations Internship at Duke University Medical Center.
“Tasha has experience in the development and implementation of art-based programming for children and youth. She is skilled in media production, editing and writing. She loves to create.” said PASSPORT President, David Burroughs.
“Tasha’s gifts, education, and ministry experience bring so much to our program development. I look forward to her joining our team and to seeing the impact she will have on Passport’s ministry in the coming years.”
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana Rev. Gibson says she is, “overjoyed to become a member of the Passport family and mission. My prayerful aim will be to make positive contributions to the team and work of Passport for the good of the staff, the campers and as a result, hopefully their surrounding communities.”
After attending a PASSPORTchoices session in North Carolina and a PASSPORTkids session in Texas, Rev. Gibson will join the administrative team in August.
