This week we are highlighting Martha’s Table, a Washington D.C nonprofit organization that has worked to increasing access to quality education programs, healthy food, and family supports for over 35 years. In 2015 alone, Martha’s Table served over 1,000,000 meals, distributed free clothing and housewares to over 10,000 neighbors in need, and provided education to over 200 children and older youth.
Our MissionBASE: DC church groups will have the opportunity to serve alongside Martha’s Table helping with their Joyful Markets, food preparation and other outreach efforts. Students will engage in conversations about food security, food desserts, the health implications of systemic poverty and how we as Christ-followers can help and advocate.
