’Tis the season for giving and for gratitude. And this week is special, because it’s d365 Appreciation Week! This is a week when we invite readers to show their appreciation for the ministry of d365 by making a gift.
In my short two-month tenure as the editor of d365, I’ve really become thankful for the d365 community – our diverse writers, the friendly folks in Passport’s national office, and the loyal users of the site. While d365 may be most conducive to individual use, when I reflect further, I realize how the site also invites so many people into this virtual space for meditation and prayer and then sends us out again. In a sense, we’re all doing this together!
No, we aren’t interacting with each other on d365, but I like to use my imagination to think about the 7th grader — a Passport camper, perhaps — who takes a few minutes to open up the d365 app and thumbs through those five steps: Pause, Listen, Think, Pray, Go… reading the same scripture on the same day as me, praying the same prayer as me, being sent out with the same blessing as me.
Some facts for you to consider:
- In 2014, d365 will have almost 2 million visits, averaging over 5,000 per day!
- In just 6 months since its release, the d365 app has been downloaded 23,000 times.
- Although d365 has 3 denominational sponsors and is geared toward a youth audience, people from many different Christian traditions and of all different ages are making d365 a part of their practice.
Once a year, we invite you to celebrate d365 Appreciation Week with us by making a gift to support the ministry of d365. Our wonderful denominational partners — the Presbyterian Church, USA, the Episcopal Church, and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship — pay for all the basics of d365, but many costs are not covered by this support, which is where you come in!
In this season of giving and gratitude, I ask you to consider expressing your thanks for the way d365 ministers to you and to so many others. Your gift will help enable us to keep providing youth and young adults with this quality online devotional experience, to keep bringing us together around God’s word and sending us out to be God’s people in the world. If you are able to donate, you can send a check here or you can donate now via this link.
